1. I am getting the error message "Host Unreachable" after attempt to open Network Neighbourhood or Mapped Network drive while using the phone to access a computer. What should I do?

There are a few situations that could lead to this Error Message and most of them reflects the meaning of this message. However, on one rare ocation it is not a case. The typical circumstances for this situation are:
- access via IP address works fine;
- and at the same time in the same situation access via Computer Name leading to the “Host Unreachable” error message.

Sometimes for some unknown reason device failing to establish TCP connection to computer after successful name resolution. The situation is very rare and under investigation right now. If you have it - please contact our support with next information:
- your device information (model, installed and latest available firmware version);
- your WiFi router information (model, installed and latest available firmware version);

But first please ensure you are using the latest available SymSMB version/build.

As a work around you can try to change DNS address in Access Point settings/Advanced Settings/IPv4 settings from Automatic to your DNS IP address (you can figure it out using ipconfig command on your PC). For some reason this can fix the problem. But for another unknown reason you might not be able to use this Access Point with other applications (like Internet Browser and others).

2. Uninstall previous version or install over?
You can use either way, but if you have previous version of SymSMB v.2.00 installed on your phone it is recommended that you will install v.3.50 over existing version as this way all yours SymSMB configuration will be saved in the new version!

3. I just purchase SymSMB 2.00 two days ago, do I really have to pay 5.00 EUR for the upgrade to 3.50?
We see your point.
Let us explain our position on this issue.

1) It is well known that some software companies are offering Free Upgrades for limited time while other offering the Upgrade Price option.

2) We have chosen the "Upgrade Price" option as we knew from very beginning that it will take time and efforts to implement everything that is planned in SymSMB project. That is why we have decided that we will add new options and increase price accordingly in order to reflect current ability of the software.
With such approach:
- customer is paying for what he get right now (not 1 year later!), have tested with Trial version and is satisfied with;
- company is not charging customer in advance for features that will be available 1 year later (it is just other definition for the "Free Upgrades" option, isn't it?);
- customer investment is protected as he/she can always (not just for 3, 6 or 12 months!) pay the price difference if he likes new product;
- company treats all customers same way (why should we respect less the customer who invested in us 1 year ago vs. customer who have paid yesterday);
- software developers are more motivated to add really new and really useful features to new version rather then something like color schema choosing.

3) If there is a need to create new version in order to fix some serious mistakes or to add some simple features then this new version will be provided as a free upgrade.

4) If our position on this issue doesn't seams to be reasonable for you... Well, we are sorry to hear that it is disappointing you, but we still not loosing hope that our products and customer service we provide will make you our happy customer!

4. How to find out the IMEI code of my phone?
Instead of entering a phone number to call just enter *#06# on your phone, your IMEI code will be displayed.

6. We are thinking about reviewing SymSMB 3.50 on our website. Do we need to have the software licence in order to test the full features of this program?
In order to make testing and reviewing of the software more easy and convenient we have included the Full functionality in the Trial version already! Therefore, all functionality could be tested in the Trial version and there is no need to have legitimate licence for this matter. If you are planning on real big and serious review and 14-days trial period could be not long enough for you, please contact us and we will extended it for you. Please include in your EMail the IMEI number(s) of the phone(s) that you are using for the tests.

9. What payment options are available?
Currently we do have two options available - PayPal and Moneybookers.
PayPal is the default option implemented on our website. It is fast secure and fully automated, you licence will be ready in a seconds after payment is made.
Moneybookers is a newly added option. If you would like to use it, please contact our customer service for more details.

10. Why I cannot play/open/stream network files on my phone while using SymSMB 3.50 for S60 3rd?
There is a phone manufacturer limitation for this operation and this is restricted for all network files. In this case files should be copied to phone prior to opening. More details about this is here.
The access in opposite direction, i.e. opening Phone's files from computer has no such restriction.

11. What if I bought a new phone or my old one was replaced by manufacturer, can I transfer my licence from one phone to another in these cases?
Yes, you can.
To transfer your SymSMB 3.50 licence from one phone to another please follow this link.
Currently that automated service is not allowing to transfer UIQ3 licence to Series 60 3rd and vice versa.
In this case you should contact customer support by Email.

Unfortunately, right now we do not have SymSMB version for Series 80 phones and we are not planning to have it in the nearest future as we are quite busy with other already existing projects.
